Today I made a few smaller paintings on 400 grams paper. I really like the surface of paper as material to paint on. Perhaps better as painting on canvas. I was not particularly interested in some theme or subject, and just let the hands and my mind do the work. Painting abstract art is just a perfect way to set your mood into improvisation mode. Maybe I was needing to let my thoughts wander for a bit.
I made three paintings on 32x41cm, 400 grams paper. They are untitled because sometimes I come up with a title later.
I want to end this post with a beautiful quote by Willem de Kooning:
“The attitude that nature is chaotic and that the artist puts order into it is a very absurd point of view, I think. All that we can hope for is to put some order into ourselves.”
