My photo project Construct/Destruct focuses on capturing the decay and transformation of industrial areas, highlighting the impact of human activity on the environment. Since starting in 2006, I have concentrated on the transition between industrial eras in regions such as the Ruhr area, Belgium and the Netherlands.
My work reveals how industrial structures are disappearing and how both nature and humanity are increasingly pushed to their limits by globalization and environmental challenges. I also document the destructive effects of mining, like in the brown coal mines in Germany. Through my images, I aim to raise awareness of our impact on the planet and our responsibility towards future generations.
